While Marvel Studios with movies based on characters from Marvel Comics, has reinvented the superhero movie genre, Warner Brothers & DC Comics are still playing catch up. Their latest, and largest attempt at this is the upcoming 'Justice League' feature, that sees iconic comic book characters coming together for the first time in a live action movie, releasing worldwide on November 17th, 2017.

Kicking off their own cinematic universe with 'Man Of Steel' in 2013, DC has been looking to capitalize on their stable of legendary characters, to rival the success of the Marvel movies. While critical reviews leave a lot to be desired, the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) movies thus far achieved an accumulated box office of just over $3 Billion! The movies have definitely been polarizing, both from a critical and fan perspective. The recent ’Wonder Woman' changed that with a nearly unanimous critics’ rating on Rotten Tomatoes of 92%. Many industry insiders, pundits and fans are looking to 'Justice League' as the movie that sets critics straight and brings the DCEU back from its middling quality of movies. And if insider reports are to be believed, even WB is awaiting for the results from 'Justice League', before pushing through any future DCEU movies.

Justice League features never before seen live action depictions of Golden Age comic book characters, come to life on the big screen! The movie features the trinity of superheroes we've already seen such as Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. But the best thing about Justice League, is its introduction of Ezra Miller as The Flash, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, and Ray Fisher as Cyborg. These brand new characters have never seen live action adaptations unless you count the current depiction of 'The Flash' in the hit CW television series. The most hyped is Momoa's Aquaman who is quietly becoming a fan favourite from the previews alone. Aquaman is also one of the only of these additional heroes to have his own solo hero movie releasing in 2018.

Justice League is also curious and important in the DCEU slate of movies, due to some behind the scenes controversy as well. Zack Snyder can be heralded as the architect of this new DC movie universe, having directed both 'Man Of Steel' and 'Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice'. However, Snyder is often criticized for his use of formulaic action, muted color palette, and an overall tone that screams gritty and dark. However, due to personal reasons, Snyder had to bow out of 'Justice League', handing over the reigns of the movie to the well established, fan favourite, geek filmmaker Joss Whedon.

Whedon has reportedly done many rewrites for the Justice League script, and since Snyder's exit, been involved in extensive reshoots of the movie as well. Whedon, besides his own creations in 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer' and ‘Firefly’, is also known for bringing together another well-known comics team to live action forefront with both the 'Avengers' movies for the MCU. So it's going to be extremely interesting to see how his version of 'Justice League' will do in theaters.

While critics reviews have only begun pouring in for Justice League, the movie will be released in a few days. If you're a fan of the DCEU movies thus far, make sure you see the movie in theaters, as you, quite literally, have the ability to decide on the future of the DCEU movies with your Box Office contribution. Justice League will be screening at the EAP theaters (Savoy 3D & Sinexpo 3D) as well as Liberty Cinemas (Screen 1 & Screen 2). Book your tickets now! And let us know what you thought of this live-action team up, that could possible decide the fate of the future of the DC Extended Universe.
