The movie is intended to be the sequel to 2015's Ant-Man, and the twentieth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Set between the events of Captain America: Civil War, Scott Lang, now under house arrest after the events of Civil War, tries to balance his home life as a father with his responsibilities as Ant-Man. When Hope van Dyne and Hank Pym present him with a new mission to bring to light secrets from their past, Lang teams up with Van Dyne as the new Wasp.
Paul Stephen Rudd is an American actor, comedian, writer, and producer. Rudd was born April 6, 1969 in Passaic, New Jersey. His father was a historical tour guide and his mother was a sales manager at a television station. Rudd attended Broadmoor Junior High and graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in the class of 1987. He attended the University of Kansas, where he majored in theater. He was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity's Nu Chapter there. He studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West in Los Angeles. Rudd spent three months studying Jacobean drama at the British American Drama Academy based in Oxford, England. While attending acting school, Rudd worked as a Bar Mitzvah disc jockey. He made his acting debut in 1992 with the television drama Sisters where he played Kirby Quimby Philby. Walton Sanders Goggins Jr. is an American actor. Goggins was born on November 10, 1971 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of Janet Long and Walton Sanders Goggins Sr. He attended Lithia Springs High School, and, for one year, Georgia Southern University. He worked on a valet car parking service for various restaurants in the valley and sold cowboy boots. In 1990, after working in a few acting roles in Georgia, he got his first big break in Murder in Mississippi. He co-produced and starred in the 2001 short film The Accountant.
Robert Cannavale is an American actor. Cannavale was born on May 3, 1970 and raised in Union City, New Jersey, the son of Isabel and Sal Cannavale. He attended St. Michael's Catholic School and returned to New Jersey after barely eking out a high school diploma in the late 1980s from Coconut Creek High School, in order to be closer to New York, to launch his acting career. He began his acting career in the theater – with no acting training – and gained early film roles in Night Falls on Manhattan (1997).
